ADB Shell! - Alternate root method.
Mucked around in Android SDK for a bit and was able to get the Driver working.
So, far a working shell via ADB.

==Normally Windows will show it as Unkown - SmartTV==

Great job!
Could you describe an easy tutorial for us to get root?

RE: ADB Shell!
==Quick & Dirty How To==

==Disclaimer==
Rooting will generally void any manufacturer warranty and can potentially brick your device. If you are not comfortable with the procedure and not willing to take the risk then please do not attempt.
I am not responsible for your device. Use at your own risk. Tongue

==SmartTV Google Driver==
Install Android SDK & Install Google's USB Driver (SDK-Extras)

Plug in your Equiso via MicroUSB to your PC.

Edit android_winusb.inf file (Did this on a win7 64bit system)

C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk\extras\google\usb_driver\android_winusb.inf

*Added this new line under:

[Google.NTamd64]

;Equiso SmartTV
%SingleAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_18D1&PID_DEED&MI_01
%CompositeAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_18D1&PID_DEED&REV_0231&MI_01

==Download & extract superuser files==

3.1.3
md5: b3c89f46f014c9df7d23b94d37386b8a

Unzip Superuser-3.1.3-arm-signed.zip
Extract Superuser.apk & su to C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools
Superuser-3.1.3-arm-signed.zip\system\app\Superuser.apk
Superuser-3.1.3-arm-signed.zip\system\bin\su

RE: ADB Shell! - Alternate root method.
Hi

I rooted my stick using Devious method successfully, looked a lot easier for a novice! (Using
W7 32bit.
)

How do I start to change the build.prop file, I cant see all the folders from Windows when its
on USB mass trf mode. I can however see all the folders when browsing within equsio.

Do I need to install the Android SDK?

Re: ADB Shell! - Alternate root method.
You can use a file manager like es file or root explorer to just replace the build.prop I have it explained in the build.prop thread. I just prefer to do it via and since I need to make changes often to optimize.
