RE: Beta software update! - 16th november
Here are the changes I see:

  1. The GoogleLoginService.apk fix that I posted here before to fix the login problems was applied.
  2. A free app called "WIFI High Performance Widget"
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/detai...h.wifiperf was
    added to the system/vendor/prebuild folder.
  3. One line commented out in egl.cfg to force hardware rendering as explained here: http://androidforums.com/esteem-all-thin...l-cfg.html
  4. Two build.prop changes:
  • dalvik.vm.heapgrowthlimit=64m changed to dalvik.vm.heapgrowthlimit=48m
  • dalvik.vm.dexopt-flags=m=v,o=y changed to dalvik.vm.dexopt-flags=m=v,o=y,u=y
Change reports:
Full change report: http://goo.gl/D7nCw
Build.prop change report: http://goo.gl/LNjVr
egl.cfg changes report: http://goo.gl/0fNRz

Instead of having to root again and then reinstall all of my apps and settings after the update/factory reset I think I'll just go edit the build.prop and egl.cfg and install that app manually. (I already fixed GoogleLoginService.apk)

blkcamarozr28 and Devious, you both should get recognition from Equiso (If they are man enough to admit it).

I think i too will just change the files myself as don't really want to root again, but what about the other files install-recovery.sh, libbcc.so.sha1 for example?

Thanks guys

The other files that changed don't matter. Either they are part of the update installation process (like install-recovery.sh) or just a date or version number changed when the new system was compiled.

RE: Beta software update! - 16th november
I changed the egl.cfg and installed the wifi app. i can say the UI is sooo much smoother when scrolling around!!!

I did not change the dalvik.vm.dexopt-flags because it was different to what Devious mentions above,( myu build.prop is the latest one from blkcamarozr28 ) Should i change it to match the Beta?

Also i did notice it takes a little longer to start up Youtube then before, so i dont know if the wifi app is really working. Once a video loads its pretty flawless.

I think the major improvement in video playback came from the change in the egl.cfg. Unfortunately it still cannot handle streaming from a slingbox unless it is set to the low quality mode.

I stuck in a bootloop after the update. Is there anything I can do?

@korkile:

Under Settings/About Tablet you should see the version number, with a date of 16 November.
