Exactly. I don't care about Antutu scores, but it's definitely snappier. And its not placebo effect!

@Devious- Give it a try. I have been working on a updated build.prop and got up to 2611. Not sure if the AnTuTu scores reflect the speed increases but its sure feels snappier and I don't see them wait boxes anymore. I noticed the Youtube and Netflix window where it displays all the videos come up way faster.

Stock Build (2012-09-14): 2471
Beta Build (2012-10-22) : 2500
2nd Release(2012-10-31d): 2522/2611
Testing (not released): up to 2611+

Also, wanted to note that AnTuTu seems to have inconsistent results. You can run it multiple times and each time the #'s would be different. Maybe I need to find a better way to benchmark changes.
Here's my 2556 score with no mod:

@Devious- The build.prop tweaks are standard things almost all custom roms use. Since your rooted you should give it a quick spin. Just backup your build.prop and download the new one. If it runs worst then revert back. I need some feedback. Thanks!

RE: Build.prop Speed Tweaks - [Root Required]
Hi

I rooted my stick using Devious method successfully, looked a lot easier for a novice! (Using
W7 32bit.
)

How do I start to change the build.prop file, I cant see all the folders from Windows when its
on USB mass trf mode. I can however see all the folders when browsing within equsio.

Do I need to install the Android SDK?

RE: Build.prop Speed Tweaks - [Root Required]
@MexRex- I seem to get some strange results with Antutu. Can you power off the unit completely after each Build.prop and retest BETA vs 11-01d? I just retested but my numbers today are way lower across the board. It's been plugged in and online for 8hrs so maybe heat could be a factor.

Here's my initial 2 runs from 11/1 and 2 & 3 runs back to back today. Doesn't make any sense now. Huh

I give up. I may need to do a factory reset or let this unit cool off.

However, if you search online most comments about these types of benchmarks are they are inconsistent. I guess you just need to try and it and see if it feels snappier or not.

Here's another test. I hit 2600+ for the first time. Our goal should be 3000. I have noticed heat after extended periods of time slows it down a bit.

RE: Build.prop Speed Tweaks - [Root Required]
@MexRex- Im seriously doubting we can hit 3000 with build.prop tweaks. Most of the debugs are off and that barely affected the score but it does give a nice seat of the pants feel. Therefore, gaining another 400 points without adding more CPU power is going to be really hard. There might be a slight chance we make some nice gains with 1Ghz vs 800Mhz.

But then again I don't know if Antutu is a good benchmark for changes. The numbers are not consistent for test runs. Obviously, the first run should be slower at first boot but the 2nd and 3rd runs should show nice gains since things are cached.
