RE: Equiso alternatives
Does anyone know of any set-top style devcies? Kinda like the Pivos Aios which would be great if the remote had a querty keyboard on it and a gyro pointer. I dont really like the stick format, its akward and kinda annoying, I use a HT receiver so in order to plug it in I have to use an hdmi extension so I can bring it out front to get a wifi signal, it looks stupid and really doesnt make any sense, a proper box would be much better.

RE: Equiso alternatives
It used to be that a "set-top box" actually sat on top of the TV set. These days, the "set-top" is an ever-diminishing strip of plastic with no room for a box.

Until now:

Actually, France beat the Chinese to market with this idea:

but the remote control is so ugly!

I was looking at the Archos Connective but so far as I can tell it was never actually released, or at least I cant find anywhere to buy it.

As for the whole 'set-top-box' thing, its just a term left over from back in the day, most people with a HT system have a stand or rack for their components, Ive got one with my HT receiver, stereo receiver and consoles which is where I would put it, not crazy about clipping something to the top of my tv.
