[GUIDE] Program IR Remote to control your TV
So, as said back here on my review of testing equiso, I found out how to program our Equiso's Remote to control our TV's using it's (hidden) second function: Infrared (IR)
If you haven't noticed the Remote has three LED: two on the back (one red and one blue) and one on the top (blue). ![]() ![]() The two on the back (it's written in the wiki page too) are: - The red LED indicates that the Equiso's Remote is being charged - The blue LED can indicate:
Programming the Remote in IR Mode: It doesn't work like an universal tv remote. This one needs to "learn" each button you want to set, one by one. Most likely everyone has it's remote set in RF Mode. So, let's start.
Then, to get back to the RF Mode and use the Remote with the USB receiver just repeat step 1. If you get confused and don't know what Mode the Remote is on, just press a button and check which blue LED turns on. If it is the one on the top, you're in IR Mode. If it is the one on the back means you're in RF Mode. p.s. Unfortunately the Power Button can't be programmed like the others, somehow... and I still haven't figured out how to set it. I hope you find this guide useful. Well at least you, because I don't even need it's IR function ![]() JohnnyCau, proud to be a member of Equiso Forum - Discussion Forums for the Equiso Smart TV since Oct 2012. |

Beat the official guide, well done !!
I'm now wondering if Equiso knew how to do this themselves... bbilko, proud to be a member of Equiso Forum - Discussion Forums for the Equiso Smart TV since Oct 2012. |

RE: [GUIDE] Program IR Remote to control your TV
Weird thing: My "Power"-button doesn't do anything BUT lighting up the IR-LED when pressed.
I guess the "Power"-button should put the Equiso to standby, or shouldn't it? Also nothing happens when I press the "back" button ... Any ideas what might be wrong? |

It is what actually made me sure it had an IR function. Technically the power button could be used to wake up the remote AND to power our TV on staying in the RF mode so that we don't need to switch into IR mode. But still I haven't found a solution yet. Hi
Great guide @JohnnyCau Unfortutately, I have the same problem from this thread http://www.equisoforum.com/Thread-Equiso...-no-cursor The Equiso works great with the wireless mouse from my computer but can`t detect it's own remote I followed this instructions and I succeed to set up the IR functions (volume +/- and power on/off) I cleared them and did the whole procedure couple of times (with different buttons). I`m trying to switch form IR to RF mode (according to step 1) but result is just turning the IR functions on and off, no cursor, no nothing appears or happen when it`s suppose to be on RF mode. So I guess my remote is deffect and I should turn to support@equiso.com for replacement. Any other suggestions to deal with it ? Best regards |

RE: [GUIDE] Program IR Remote to control your TV
The power button can be programmed, you simply need to wait a bit longer while the blue led turns off after you programmed it at least i have just programmed my TV tu turn off and off with equiso remote
