***Windows 8***
Windows 8 forces drivers to be digitally signed.
Disable driver signature enforcement

1.) Mousing over to the right of the screen
2.) Settings
3.) Change PC Settings
4.) General
5.) Select Advanced Startup ---> Restart Now
6.) Trouble shoot
7.) Advanced options
8.) Windows startup options
9.) Restart
10.) Select Option #7: "Disable driver signature enforcement"
11.) Reboot
12.) Install google usb driver
C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk\extras\google\usb_driver\android_winusb.inf
Excellent.. Sticky!!!
Shy Done. Now I feel like it's mine (how can you actually own a device if you don't have root??? Big Grin)

Thanks!

Dwight, I don't know how to do any of those first steps.

How do I "Install Android SDK" (and by the way, what is an "SDK?")

How do I "Install Google's USB Driver (SDK-Extras)"?

When I "Plug in your Equiso Pro via MicroUSB to your PC", do I have to power it up?

In other words, I think your how-to needs to be updated so the complete newbie (me) can follow it.

Thanks for your help.
Who's Dwight? Google is your friend. Didn't want to reinvent the wheel and I refusing to do any more hacking for free for Equiso to better their stick.
Sorry, I meant Wilson! I can understand how you must be tired of contributing to such a dead-end project.
So, could anybody help me get the Android SDK installed, along with the Google USB driver? I really want to get my Equiso Pro rooted.
@Jeff-

Google is your friend but here's some things to get you going in the right direction.

I finally got blkcamarozr28's instructions figured out. I got the USB driver installed and ran the shell commands with no errors. I ran Superuser, set ES File Explorer for root access, installed Quick Boot and Samba File Server.

Thanks for your encouragement, Wilson!

(If anyone else has trouble with the instructions, I will try to give you some tips).

Its always more fun and satisfying doing it the manual method. Hopefully, you learned a few things on your journey. Big Grin
